The Downtown Community Planning Council (DCPC) is the voice of Downtown residents, businesses, and organizations, providing vital recommendations on development, land use, and growth. This is your chance to be part of this important work by voting for—or running as—a candidate in the 2025 Board Elections.

Elections decide who will represent your neighborhood and business community, giving you a direct influence on the future of Downtown San Diego. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate!

Election Timeframe and Deadlines

Candidates must register and be vetted by the Elections Committee. Early registration is encouraged and can be done here. Candidate Registration Deadline: 11:59pm, Monday, March 10, 2025

Online Ballot will be provided to registered voters beginning Tuesday March 11, 2025.

In-person voting:
Wednesday, March 19, 2025
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (polls will be closed at 6pm)

The Downtown Community Planning Council will hold its regular meeting on March 19th. When the polls close, votes will be counted. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the March 19, 2025 DCPC meeting.

Who Can Participate?​

Candidate Eligibility

  • Downtown residents (homeowners or renters that reside in Downtown)
  • Downtown business representatives (business owners or nominated representatives)
  •  

Voter Eligibility

  • Non-residential property owners with properties in Downtown
  • Any Resident living in qualifying neighborhoods is eligible to vote for Residential and Business candidates in their respective neighborhood
